Required for Immediate Employment
Head of Internal Control
Reporting to the CEO, the ideal candidate will have responsibility for developing and implementing the control framework, monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of internal controls and corporate governance systems, with a view to safeguarding the assets of the company. Specific responsibilities include:
• Establish appropriate control framework to maintain accuracy, integrity and reliability of financial records to prevent misstatements and fraud and safeguard the company’s assets.
• Ensure adequate controls are put in place to mitigate risks in the group’s processes.
• Oversee and monitor compliance with the group’s policies and procedures.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• A good first degree or its equivalent from a reputable institution in relevant disciplines.
• Professional qualification in accounting (e.g. ACA, ACCA) is required.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in Internal Control, preferably in the financial services industry with, at least, two (2) years in management/supervisory role.
• Knowledge of compliance issues and corporate governance, and internal control framework.
• Good knowledge of investment banking operations and risk-based approach to external audit.
• Knowledge of IT-based audit tools.
• Good analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
Dealers/Relationship Managers
Reporting to the Head of Investment Services, the ideal candidates will be responsible for the execution of clients’ and company’s securities trades, and assist in the management of investment portfolios. Specific responsibilities include:
• Execute orders for company’s own account, as well as, clients in the most efficient manner.
• Lead a team of marketing executives to manage company’s relationship with assigned clients.
• Provide investment information and advice to clients on money market commodities.
• Create and manage investment portfolios for clients, across all available investment products within each clients objectives and needs: equities, corporate or municipal bonds, mutual funds and certificates of deposit etc
• Develop marketing and sales strategies to expand clientele.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
• A good first degree or its equivalent in any numerate disciplines such as statistics, mathematics, economics, accounting, finance, amongst others.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience, preferably in the financial services industry, two years of which must have been at supervisory/management role.
• Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (i.e. ACS) is required.
• Money Market exposure or dealership will be an advantage.
• Self motivated and goal oriented.
• Customer Service orientation and an eye for details.
• Good interpersonal and communication sills.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office suites.
